Hosting The School of Styling right here in Greensboro was an absolute dream! Not only did I get to host an amazing group of ladies in my hometown, but I got to do it at my very own venue, McAlister-Leftwich, and special doesn’t even begin to describe it!

I had visions of being able to host The School of Styling here, and seeing it all come together was just magical.

We are still putting the finishing touches on the venue, so there is no way we would have been ready for our attendees without the beautiful work of our vendors!

Becca Atchison of Rebecca Rose Events covered our space in greenery, and it felt ethereal from the moment you walked in. I don’t think our staircase has ever looked prettier, and the floral touches throughout the space were stunning.

The signage by Happy Tines was the perfect element to create the elevated design we’d hoped for. Acrylic, black, and mauve aren’t totally what you think of when you think of The School of Styling, but this look was fresh, and still incredibly feminine!

Our classroom welcomed the attendees with gorgeous velvet linens by Nuage Designs, and classic chaivari chairs by Party Makers. Accented by the sweet floral arrangements by Rebecca Rose Events, were our welcome boxes – filled to the rim with goodies for our gals! Each box was tied with white silk ribbon with a custom acrylic name tag by Happy Tines. Inside the box, each attendee was gifted with amazing products like ring dishes by Marbella Dish, facial steam by Some Call Me Crunchy, candles by Southern Firefly Candle, ribbon by Adorn Co, styling blocks by The Romanticist, and beautiful journals by Design Bindery.

We kicked off the week with introductions, and of course, covered the basics of who we were and what we did, but the kicker was we also set an intention for the week and selected one word to represent our time at The School of Styling. Stay tuned for how we incorporated these words later on in the week, hint: it was super impactful!

Our very fist session feature Jeannie Sullivan, a strategic business coach! She gave our attendees incredible insight on how to “align who you are with how you make money.” Not to mention, she just might be one of the sweetest people we’ve ever had the pleasure of working with!

The next session was alllll about flat lay styling, and one of my favorite topics to teach. The attendees sat in on the fundamentals of styling, and then were able to put these notes into work with a hands-on styling session. Everyone selected their favorites from our workshop station including an array of gorgeous stationery by Happy Tines, vintage stamps by Verde Studio, styling ribbon from LaPomme Et La Pipe, wax seals provided by Wax Seals, and gorgeous styling boards from The Romanticist.

There is no better way to end an exciting first day than with a few rounds of speed dating! Speed dating is ALWAYS a good time, but these ladies were chatting and mingling so much, we had to gently remind them it was time to move to the next spot! What a great problem to have!

PS: How cute are these wine bottles by Speak Wines.

These women came ready to dig deep, follow their passions, and really get the most out of their week – which is more than we could ever ask for! Take a look at our first day in Greensboro!
