Name: Kaitlin Holland / Job Title: Founder / Business: The School of Styling / City/State: Greensboro, NC

Can you tell us a little bit about your business and what you do? I am the founder of The School of Styling, an educational platform designed to equip and encourage creative entrepreneurs to style with intention, build meaningful businesses, and cultivate community. Which you probably know since you’re on our site!

My role has shifted and changed over the past year and a half, but now my primary role is to oversee workshop organization and design, create and organize educational content, and cast vision for upcoming projects and collaborations.

I began as a stylist, which will always have my heart! I love styling for workshops and editorial projects. It’s such a fun creative outlet for me and I take on a few projects outside TSOS each year.

How did you develop your specific craft? I have always loved art and design. Growing up, I wanted to be an interior designer. For a while in college I wanted to be an art teacher. During my senior year of college I started a vintage rental company, giving me the opportunity to style photo shoots. For the past four years I have styled various projects and events from editorial to weddings.

What is your favorite part of your craft and/or business? I love creating a business that brings joy and encouragement to others! Our team gets to work with some amazing people – attendees, speakers, sponsors, collaborators – and the relationships that we have built over the past year and a half have truly blessed my life. I feel so honored to do this work and we work hard at TSOS to steward what we’ve been given with care and extravagant love.

Tell us a little bit about what you will be offering through The School of Styling this year? I will be taking four coaching clients during 2016. I coach on business and brand development, workshop development, and offer portfolio reviews. I will also be accepting two styling and/or speaking engagements for 2016. Our primary focus is TSOS, but I love to meet new people and share what I’ve learned with others!

Why did you decide to bring on TSOS Coaches? We decided to offer Coaching as a way to bridge the gap between creative professionals who have something to teach and an audience that wants to learn. We have handpicked some of the best in the industry to act as mentors, teachers, and to encourage you throughout the year. These women created the core curriculum for the Creative Online Academy, will be speakers at various 2016 workshops, and offer one-on-one coaching sessions on their specific realm of expertise. Our hope is that we would provide you with more in-depth educational opportunities!
