Vicki Grafton was the winner of the free seat we gave away at the beginning of the year! After 8 long months we finally got to meet this sweet and talented lady under the Spanish moss at Middleton Place for our Charleston school. Vicki was eager to learn and desired to offer more and more to her clients. During her one-on-one session with Corbin Gurkin she had the opportunity to capture her own styled work. It’s not very often you are the one creating and capturing! We are so excited to feature Vicki’s work today!

Tell us a little bit about yourself. I’m a fine art film wedding photographer who travels the world to capture couples unique stories on film. While based in Virginia,I’m continually on the move and inspired by the unique locations I’m privileged to explore and photograph each year. I have a deep love for natural light and my style is best described as light, airy and natural. Using a mix of photojournalistic, editorial, and fine art styles,I strive to document sincere moments and tell my clients story in the most beautiful way. Everyday I’m so honored to share what I see behind my lens and preserve special moments in my clients lives. When not shooting or traveling, you’ll find me spending quality snuggle time with my husband and our 3 rescued pups: autumn, coco, and bear. With my love for dogs, I’m proud to donate a percentage of all sales to local dog rescues.

What was your experience like at TSOS Charleston? I had such an amazing time at TSOS connecting with and learning from so many talented creatives, both instructors and other participants. I learned techniques that I will definitely use going forward when working without a stylist. Learning flower arranging from the amazingly talented Amy Osaba was challenging and pushed me out of my comfort zone, but now I really understanding what goes into making a stunning bouquet or centerpiece. Hearing Krista Janos’s tips on prop styling and learning about all the unique tools she uses at photo shoots is such invaluable information. I also had an  wonderful one-on-one session with Corbin Gurkin where we discussed the use of unique lighting situation and ad the Carol Hannah personally style a unique veil for us to photograph. We also went over unique framing, composition, and techniques for posing real couples.
